Who’s Involved

Eat Retreat is the work of a few San Francisco ladies looking to rediscover joy for food and cooking.


Laura Brunow Miner — @lbm

Laura is an editor, designer, and entrepreneur in San Francisco who founded an online photography publication called Pictory and a series of creative retreats called Phoot Camp. She was recently listed as a “Hot 20 Under 40” by 7x7 and one of the “Most Influential Women in Tech” by Fast Company. She does not cook as well as her friends do, but at her height, probably eats more.


Kathryn Tomajan — @kathryn13

As the regional marketing director for Bon Appetit Management Company, Kathryn works with restaurant managers and chefs to educate guest about where their food comes from and how it’s prepared. She also serves on the Northern California foraging team to find new sources of local ingredients. In spring 2011, Kathryn will attend graduate school at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Bra, Italy.


Emily Morgan — @emsness

Emily developed a passion for food and agriculture in college working on dairies and farms, and cooking for friends. As a board member of Alpha Zeta, the national honors agricultural fraternity, she has traveled the country and Puerto Rico learning about different farming methods and working on farms in Louisiana and Texas devastated by hurricanes. Recently, Emily helped organize the Good Food Awards and is a Research and Development Manager at Fare Resources, a food and restaurant business consulting firm, located in San Francisco.
